A running list of what I’m reading.

Currently reading

  • Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, Susanna Clarke
  • Designing Data-Intensive Applications, Martin Kleppmann

Finished

  • The Works of Vermin, Hiron Ennes (September 2026)
    • Really liked the world. Weirdly, I’d call this the spiritual successor to Gideon the Ninth. I won’t stand by this.
  • Educated, Tara Westover (August 2026)
    • Made me feel sad, but felt important.
  • Piranesi, Susanna Clarke (August 2026)
    • The best book I’ve read this year.
  • The Phoenix Project, Gene Kim, Kevin Behr, and George Spafford (August 2026)
    • Terrible book. 8th grade reading level. I got so much out of it. I bought it for two people and got my team to pick it up.
  • Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Luo Guanzhong (July 2026)
    • I cast stone sentinel maze (in face down defense position).
  • Silent Spring, Rachel Carson (May 2026)
    • Wow, I might be weird about organic food if I grew up with this happening around me. Also, screw worms! Bummer they’re held up as the success story when they’re currently marching back north since funding got cut.
